题目:
1.  Battery Management Systems and Battery Safety for Electric Drive Vehicles
2.   High Efficiency Wireless Charging of Electric Vehicles
报告人:Chris Mi (Prof, Fellow IEEE & SAE,San Diego State University, San Diego, California, USA)
报告时间:1.  5月22日, 上午11:00-12:00
          2.  5月22日, 下午2:00-3:00
报告地点:车辆重点实验楼2层报告厅
报告语言:英文/中文
报告内容:
1. Battery management systems deal with the safety and reliability concerns of the battery system effectively to ensure safe and reliable operation of the battery system, extend the life of battery, and maximize the drive range. Proper design of the BMS can help optimize the system efficiency and reduce cost while extend the life expectance and increase safety of the battery system.
This seminar covers five main topics: (1). Energy storage system basics with focus on lithium ion batteries; (2). Battery management systems; (3). The application of power electronics in the battery system of an EV and PHEV; (4). Battery safety basics. (5) Battery modeling and parameter identification; (6) battery diagnostics and prognostics.

2. Wireless power transfer technology offers significant improvement in convenience and electric safety for electric vehicle (EV) charging. The research aims at novel designs that considerably reduce size and cost while increasing the coupling coefficient and improving the misalignment capability.
This seminar covers three main topics: (1). Wireless power transfer basics followed by discussion of a double-sided LCC topology which further enhances the system efficiency. (2).Capacitive power transfer (CPT) for EV charging applications. (3). Application of wireless charging of automatic guided vehicles which provides additional challenges, such as low-voltage, high current, wide range of variable distance, etc.
